Each week, focus on just two numbers. This slow, intentional repetition helps children build real number understanding instead of memorizing numbers once and moving on.
Over time, these pages come together to form a simple number booklet your child helped create.

Materials
- Construction paper or number coloring page printables
- Glue
- Items to glue: pom poms, stickers, washi tape, paper scraps, band-aids, or any small household materials
How to Set Up
You have two simple options for this activity:
- Printable option: Use the number coloring pages provided in the curriculum.
- DIY option: Write a large number on a blank sheet of paper.
Choose the option that feels easiest for you — both support the same learning goal.
How to Play
- Present one number page at a time.
- Name the number together and count it out loud.
- Invite your child to glue that same number of items onto the page.
- Example: For the number 3, glue 3 pom poms or 3 stickers.
- Count together as each item is added.
- Repeat with a second number if your child is still engaged.
The goal is not perfection. Some children will place extra items or need support counting — that’s part of the learning process.
Teaching Tip
Keep this activity calm and unhurried.
Narrate what your child is doing instead of correcting them right away:
- “You’re adding one more.”
- “Let’s count together.”
- “You noticed we need one more to match the number.”
This builds confidence and understanding without pressure.
How This Fits the Month
This activity works best when repeated weekly.
By the end of the month, your child will have a growing number booklet that reflects practice, repetition, and ownership — not worksheets or drills.
