Gelatin cubes are a great way to teach colors to a toddler. It is edible safe you can play and feel confident in your play. If you also have a baby, this is a great fine motor skill game for them. They might not be learning about colors yet but they sure are learning about textures and be very intrigued by the pop of colors!
There are two ways to do it and I’m going to show you how easily they can be done and how much fun you can have with this sensory play idea.
You can get super creative with these, you can play rescue the ocean animals as we did, and place them over a light table to let these cube glow! or create monster eyes for a Halloween activity… so many possibilities, just one magic ingredient!!
Notes
Use different colors to make the sensory play activity more attractive!
You can replace the unflavored gelatin with regular Jell-O. Playtime will be more sticky with the Jell-O because of the sugar in Jell-O but a lot more tasty!
