How to Set up a St Patrick Sensory Bin

Start by making yellow colored rice, we used lemon scented using the below recipe.

St. Patrick’s Day sensory bin Counting Cards

Print out the free counting cards and laminate them so they last longer. I created these cards as a kit last year and it was a great success! These cards go up to the number 6.

The set of counting cards is great for practicing counting and learning number recognition (number recognition is ideal for two and three-year-olds).

Feed The Leprechaun

Cut out the mouth of the leprechauns and place them over a cup, securing them with tape or a piece of playdough.

Feed the leprechaun is a fun activity that kids love! With its mouth wide open, it is ready to be fed. What can you feed him? rice, coins, shamrocks! the possibilities are endless! this is the perfect activity to work on sensory play and practice those fine motor skills of using a spoon, pouring.

Play a matching game!

Match the items showed on each card to the St. Patrick’s themed embellishment.

You can also hide the embellishments under the rice and have your toddler dig and look for them.

Can you count all the coins as you dig them out?

How about we find everything that is the color green
