Let’s get started with homemade baby food pure combinations
I always make big batches of purees and create different mixes to knock out a bunch at a time – plus I save time and money.
SINGLE INGREDIENT BASIC BABY FOOD
You don’t need to be an experienced chef to make any of the following purees; all you need to know how to do is chop, steam, and purée.
Apple Puree
You can use any type of apples for this puree, or like me, you can even mix them for a unique flavor.
Banana Puree
Find a recipe here
Mango Puree
Strawberry Puree
Pineapple Puree
Remove the skin and core and blend it in the food processor.
For a breakfast blend, you can add yogurt to the mix. Find the recipe here
Pear Puree
Pear is one fruit that does not need to be steamed. You can leave the skin or take it off – I rather peel it off using a potato peeler.
Peach Puree
Blueberry Puree
Avocado Puree
Although not a fruit as the rest of the list I had to include the avocado. Avocado by itself tastes great, and when you mix it with other fruits it’s a hidden in flavor and you are providing a super food, super nutritious option.
“”in just one serving of avocado baby food there is a great deal of essential vitamins, minerals and healthy fats that are valuable for baby’s growth and development.” – the Bumb

Two IngredientsHomemade baby food Puree Combinations
Expand your baby’s palate by continuing to build on familiar flavors by mixing them.
Apple + Blueberry
2 apples, a handful (probably 1/2 cup) of blueberries and 4 tbsp of water. Find the full recipe here
Apple + Cinnamon
2 apples, peeled and chopped into large chunks with 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon.

Apple + Avocado
1 apple 1/4 avocado
If you add too much avocado, the puree looses it’s sweetness
Avocado + Banana
1 and 1/2 banana + 1/4 avocado
I had initially done half an avocado and one banana but I felt it needed to be sweeter, so the next batch I reduced the avocado and increased the banana for the ultimate yummy recipe.
Banana + Blueberry
- 2 cups frozen blueberries
- 1 cup sliced banana
- 2 tablespoons liquid of choice (water/milk)
find the recipe here
Blueberry + Strawberry

These sound so good and those pouches are adorable! I bet the kids will really love these.
This is a great post and something my friends are very interested in so I am going to share with them this post! This is very great!
Ohhh! I have been toying with the idea of making my own baby food for my son. He will be 4 months soon, and I definitely don’t plan on trying to feed him solids until at least month 6 or 7, but it’s good to prep in advance!
homecooked baby food! This is awesome! My friend is gonna love you, they have a 3-year-old baby boy. Thanks a lot.
Love these puree combinations that you featured. When my son was younger, I would feed him with food that I prepared myself, no store-bought baby food. 🙂
every mother needs this, preservatives is doing no one any good, so if you can make them fresh why not go for them considering the health benefits.
You won my heart. Fruit purees have special place in my heart. Omg, why they are so good. Love your suggestions.
Can I eat those purée too! Lol! I’ve never tried avocado purée but I love it in my smoothies and every parent needs to see this, so healthy and good for the baby.
Variety is the spice of life. Kids do need variety and would love to see different color in their baby bowls. Really helpful blog.
Love that you are using actually fruit! Such a great idea!
This brings back such fond memories of when I made homemade purees for both of my kiddos! Lots of veggies were included. They are now ages 6 & 9 and still love veggies!
The combinations featured in this blog are really good, and I will agree with the point, that it also depicts various spices/shades of life.
Love homemade babyfood just don’t trust those pouches too much.
You suggest some really interesting combinations of flavours. Our little eaters gave us a lot of challenges, what they liked one day they didn’t the next. Maybe we needed more options.
This is such a nice idea, homemade food for babies is really good and more healthier than the one we buy from the market.
what a great idea! I will surely try this at home, been searching for this kind of recipe thank you for this
this might help me right niw, ive been struggling on what to feed for my kid and this will really help
I love the idea of apple and avocado. WHat a healthy choice for kids and a great way for them to get the nutrients in.
My son is almost two but he still likes purée. I loved the tips you shared on avocado purée, since my son is not fond of avocado.
I don’t have kids so I can’t really relate to this but it kind og nice to see baby food made naturally rather than being made by canning company.
I’m loving these ideas for your baby boy. I wish I was more into making my own baby food. These recipes look delicious! Love the animal pouches as well.
What a cool product to feed your toddler or baby! Thanks for sharing your recipes as well.
