  • Baking soda (about 1 tablespoon)
  • Vinegar (½ cup or more)
  • Water (½ cup)
  • A small handful of unpopped popcorn kernels
  • Optional: spoon, dropper, or funnel for setup

🧪 How to Set It Up

  1. Fill the jar halfway with water.
  2. Add 1–2 tablespoons of baking soda and stir to dissolve.
  3. Add the popcorn kernels.
  4. Now pour in vinegar and watch what happens!
    → The vinegar reacts with the baking soda to create carbon dioxide bubbles that lift the kernels.
    → As the bubbles pop, the kernels fall — and the jumping starts!
  5. You can repeat the reaction by adding more vinegar or baking soda as needed.
