Rain sticks produce the soothing sounds of rain falling, a calming sound that puts people at ease. Rain sticks are also used as musical instruments, if you shake them to the rhythm of the music you can have an awesome maraca.
To make this DIY rain stick you will need:
- A VOSS bottle (or similar)
- 15 colored straws
- 1/4 cup of colored garbanzo beans
- 1/4 cup of colored rice

You dont Need to color the garbanzo beans or rice but it does give it a nice pop of color
Ingredients
- 1 VOSS Bottle
- 15 colored straws
- 1/4 garbanzo beans
- 1/4 cup colored rice
- Super glue
Instructions
- Empty the VOSS water from the bottle and let it dry
- Add 1/4 cup of colored garbanzo beans
- Cut up the straws in different sizes
- Add the straws to the bottle – one color at a time
- Layer as many colors as you want your rain stick to have
- Add 1/4 cup of colored rice leaving some space for the rice to move around
- Glue the lid with super glue to avoid your little one try to open it and spilling it all
- Shake to distribute the rice and then gently move the bottle upside down to hear the rain fall down
Rain sticks can be a lot of fun to make! You don’t have to do it with complicated processes tons of supplies and nails! This simple tutorial will give you the freedom to do many rain sticks at once, get creative with your colors and let your imagination run wild!
