How fun it is to celebrate fall than with an apple theme week! For our apple week, I chose the apple suncatcher craft is one of my favorite activities to do. It is simple to do, and the end result is just beautiful!
Supplies to make an apple suncatcher:
- Apple template printable (optional)
- Red, green, or yellow construction paper
- Sticky paper (Contact Paper – I used this one available at Amazon)
- Scissors
An apple suncatcher craft can be done in various ways. You can design your own apple or oyu can use a free apple printable image and use colored construction paper. You can also use tissue paper or cellophane paper.
My choice is to use cellophane paper (I purchased a set of small squares of cellophane available in Amazon to do multiple crafts this year). I love cellophane because it is translucent and the sun reflects really nicely onto the craft and reflect the colors.
The apple suncatcher craft is one of my favorite crafts to do each year because as my son gets older, so does the learning activity we do around it as we practice fine motor skills.
- At One Year Old, we worked on ways to learn primary colors
- At Two Year Old, we worked on scissor skills and used it a science activity

Notes
Cellophane paper will create a translucent effect and the sun will reflect the color when placed by a window.
